Mapping Why Parliamentarians Support for an Open Parliament

An open parliament brings a new form of interaction between citizens and legislative powers that promotes parliamentary openness and transparency, to ensure access to public information, accountability, citizen participation, and high probity and ethical standards in parliamentary work.

To illustrate the importance of this new paradigm and the shared commitment to advance reforms to open parliaments and redefine their interaction with citizens to build trust and confidence in our democratic institutions, ParlAmericas has launched a video project called "Why Parliamentarians Support an Open Parliament". This interactive space features testimonies of parliamentarians from across the Americas and the Caribbean expressing their views on the value of these initiatives.
