Senator Hervieux-Payette Recognized for her Contribution to Women’s Development
This October 26, Senator Céline Hervieux-Payette received “The World of Difference 100 Award” granted by The International Alliance for Women (TIAW). The ceremony took place at the Canadian embassy in Washington DC. Once a year, this institution rewards 100 women from all over the world for their contribution to the economic empowerment of women at the international, regional, or local level.
FIPA-ParlAmericas, an institution to which she has made a significant contribution – and more specifically, the Group of Women Parliamentarians of the Americas as part of this organization – of which she was the first female President, is pleased to congratulate her on this deservedly received tribute.
This award recognizes her legislative career, characterized by her struggle in favour of women.
We wish to congratulate Senator Hervieux-Payette and acknowledge her as a source of inspiration and a role model for acting women parliamentarians.
